US Shogi Championship winner advanced to Shogi World Championship.

2009 US Shogi Championship was held in the weekend of April 10 - 12, in , San Francisco(Please check our photos at the event here). The winner was Mr. Nozawa from Chicago Shogi club. Mr. Nozawa will play for Shogi World Championship in November as a qualifier from United States.

Poland announced a winner of the preliminary tournament for the 3rd Shogi World Championship!

Poland is the first country to announce a winner of its preliminary tournament for the 3rd Shogi World Championship Tournament, which will be held in the weekend of November 13-15, 2009, in New York, hosted by New York Shogi Club.

The winner is Bartek Klin and the following is a Kifu from the final match of the preliminary tournament between Bartek Klin (Sente) and Adrian Woloszyn (Gote):
