The 3rd Shogi World Championship Tournament

Qualification to participate: Anybody can participate in this tournament. Please submit your application from here.

Prize: 1st Place Winner: Cash prize of US$3,000 and other prizes / Cash prizes and many other prizes to the runner-up and other winners.

Entry fee: $120 (tournament fee: $80 / dinner fee: $40)

Preliminary tournament: We will have a preliminary tournament to be held in each country by the spring of 2009, and the winner of the preliminary tournament in each country will be invited to the World Championship Tournament in New York, with the travel and hotel expenses to be paid by the organizer. All other participants are of course welcome at their own expenses.
